You expect to find luxury vehicles like the 2019 Lexus RX 2\350 when you visit our Jacksonville, FL Lexus dealership. Similarly, people who visit INTERSECT BY LEXUS in New York City expect to be immersed in an environment that unites them with innovative ideas. Now that Chef Sergio Barroso has agreed to be INTERSECT’s next Global Chef-in-Residence, you can expect even more when you visit the restaurant in the Big Apple’s meatpacking district.
Barroso is the owner and operator of Restaurante 040 in Chile. Since it opened in 2015, the eatery has quickly become a Latin American hotspot that’s known for providing a novel gastronomic experience. During Barroso’s four to six month tenure at INTERSECT BY LEXUS, the restaurant’s bar and lounge will transform into Room 09, which will be the equivalent of Restaurante 040’s speakeasy.
“Restaurante 040’s inventive approach is not only unique to New York, but also, to the rest of the world,” explains chef Barroso. “As it is the first fine dining restaurant to offer food that must be eaten with your hands, the concept will contribute a completely new gastronomic experience to the public. The concept resembles Japanese Kaiseki, complementing the overall ethos of INTERSECT BY LEXUS.”
Barroso will step into the role of INTERSECT’s Global Chef-in-Residence next month. With him remaining at the helm of the restaurant for up to six months, you have plenty of time to plan a road trip to NYC. Barroso’s 12-course tasting menu will change regularly so that it’s always making the most of local flavors. So, plan to stay in New York for a few days at least.
