One of the best things about being Lexus dealers is that we get to share details about upcoming vehicles with you before they even make it into our generous inventory of new Lexus cars. One new vehicle we can’t wait to tell you about is the all-new 2018 Lexus LS 500.
The Lexus brand reinvented its flagship sedan for the new model year. The automaker applied “Omotenashi,” which is the Japanese concept of hospitality, to the redesign process for the 2018 Lexus LS 500 and it shows in every detail.
The Lexus brand’s designers gave the new Lexus LS 500 a coupe-like profile and a grille that has an incredibly intricate design. For the standard models of the 2018 Lexus LS 500, the car maker’s designers went through 5,000 different surfaces before they found the texture that interacted with light the way they wanted it to. For the F Sport trim, the designers tested 7,100 surfaces before they found the one that satisfied their exacting demands.
The overriding concern during this car’s redesign was taking care of drivers and passengers. The 2018 Lexus IS 500 is designed to anticipate the needs of motorists and their traveling companions, tend to their continued comfort, and protect them from road hazards. When it arrives at our Jacksonville, Florida Lexus dealership, you’ll see that every 2018 Lexus IS 500 model succeeds at these things and the F Sport trim does them with a noticeable performance-driven attitude.
The Lexus brand created an all-new 3.5-liter, six-cylinder engine for the 2018 Lexus IS 500. Equipped with twin turbochargers, this engine produces 415 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque with ease. This all-new engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which is the first of its kind in a luxury sedan.
