For the standard models of the 2018 Lexus LS 500, the car maker’s designers went through 5,000 different surfaces before they found the texture that interacted with light the way they wanted it to. For the F Sport trim, the designers tested 7,100 surfaces before they found the one that satisfied their exacting demands.
The overriding concern during this car’s redesign was taking care of drivers and passengers. The 2018 Lexus IS 500 is designed to anticipate the needs of motorists and their traveling companions, tend to their continued comfort, and protect them from road hazards.
